idk if you know this about me, but I love Barbie…a lot (not like in a ‘I buy Barbie dolls as an adult’ sort of way, but more in a ‘I love the girly aesthetic of Barbie’ sort of way). That being said, I do not often buy clothes from Barbie collaborations, usually because there is something a little off about the pieces. Occasionally, I do find something that I love enough to buy like this kid’s jacket from Target. While I think that it is cute on its own, I couldn’t help but feel like it needed a little fawn print or something. I decided the best way to add it would be to make a detachable fawn fur collar…the only problem being that I have never made a detachable collar. I looked for a tutorial online and after watching a bunch of youtube videos, I finally found one on a blog that was super easy to follow. I really love the way it turned out! Here are some pics :
How to Feel like an Angel :
Be nice to everyone. Help someone. Encourage someone.
Take care of the environment
Drink a big glass of water after you wake up and then continue to drink water all day long. Not only does drinking water boost skin health, which will make you glow, it also helps your body/brain function properly
Eat a healthy breakfast full of superfoods
Dry brush before you take a bath or shower to promote circulation and for angel soft skin.
Apply a body cream within a minute of getting out of the shower in the morning
Take care of your skin. Have a skin care routine, wash your face twice a day and moisturize for an angelic glow.
Always put on sunscreen, even when it is winter and even when it is cloudy! Protect yourself from sun cancer and from wrinkles.
Only wear clothing that you love. But to truly feel like an angel, wear flowy, femininely cut pieces made with soft, natural fabrics and opt for a pastel color palette. Think silk slips/camisoles, cashmere sweaters, lace, 100% cotton, and velvet accents

Clean your house, have fresh flowers and surround yourself with beautiful things
Light scented candles during the day and unscented candles at night
Spend time outside, even if it is just for a little bit
Take a bath with epsom salts and candles
Afterwards, use a body oil. Sweet almond oil or rose hip seed oil (also my go to face oil as it tightens skin and reduces the appearance of fine lines and if you are looking for a face oil I 100% recommend it) are my go to oils.
Use a hair mask for soft, healthy tresses. Here are some of my favorites.
Use an eye mask treatment (after you finish your skin care routine). I like the Clear Turn Moist Charge Eye Zone Masks from KOSE (I originally bought them while we were in Tokyo for our wedding and the pharmacist told me they are the #1 selling eye mask in Japan). There are 32 sets in a pack and they only cost around $12.00 and if you keep them in the fridge they are ultra cooling.
Put on clean pajamas
Use a humidifier (hydrated skin = angel)
Put clean sheets on your bed. Freshly washed sheets will make your bed feel like a cloud.
Use a silk pillowcase. It prevents split ends and wrinkles. I get mine from Slip, this one specifically, but there are a few other options on amazon (that I haven’t tried or else I would link them).
Apply hand lotion and lip balm before you sleep for angel I love Weleda’s Skin Food, which is super rich and I truly do notice a difference in the morning. Also, it is claimed to be a La Mer dupe… I am not sure if that is true as I have personally never used La Mer (so expensive lol) but I like to feel like I am getting the same benefits from using it.
Use a silk eye mask to get more restful sleep and to prevent wrinkles. I buy mine from Slip as well and you can buy it here.
I made an angel inspiration mood board with pics from pinterest. You can find all of them, and more here.

Hello :) I wanted to quickly share these pics that we took a few days ago. The outfit is a copy of something that I used to wear while growing up and it is a look that I still like so much.
I like outfits that take classic clothing items and make them a little bit more playful…the look of an oversized oxford with a little sweater vest is an example. It makes the masculinity of the men’s shirt a little softer. I also like the way the shirt/vest look when paired with the over the knee boots, which are so feminine and tall. I think the mini and oversized elements of the outfit make it so fun.

Hello :) Sorry for the lack of posts, Slow Magic and I just got back from a road trip to Colorado, where we were finishing up celebrating Christmas. I was hoping to take more pictures while we were there but we didn’t have much time. That being said, I did manage to get this outfit pic when we stopped near Vail on our drive home.
The theme of this outfit is ‘things that I found while going through my closet’, as the scarf, bag, earmuffs, and skirt were all found in my closet at home in VT. Lately, I have been into the idea of wearing hints of the classic Burberry check (like on the cuff of a jacket or the inside of a coat or something) so I was super excited to find a few things that I already owned with the print. I paired the check with black but I think that it would look so nice with cream or pink :)
Anyways, It finally feels like the start of the new year and now that we are back at our apartment, I am hoping to get the kitchen and our closets more organized (I am not usually big on new years resolutions so I will call this a new years goal). Do you guys have any new years resolutions/goals?
I love taking outfit pictures and I have been taking them since I was in high school…it is so weird but I was completely confident doing so, even in public up until recently. Over this past year, I have been trying to get comfortable in front of the camera again. While I am not completely there, I do feel like I have made some progress and I wanted to share the outfit pics I did take :)
My goal for this year is to take more! Slow Magic takes all of the outfit photos and while it was difficult for me to explain to him exactly what I wanted at first, I feel like we are now getting the hang of it and I am actually so excited to take more with him (I hope he is too lol). Do you have any goals for this year… or any tips for getting over taking pictures in public?
