Tokyo Halloween

Dream Angel

I wanted to share a few Halloween related things that I brought back from Tokyo. Japan has the cutest Halloween decorations, not just because of the halloween themed characters, but because they use more purple and honestly just have ‘cuter’ ideas :

When we got home, I recreated the bear in the pumpkin with things I found in the US. I couldn’t find a bear or an orange plastic pumpkin at Target, so I ended up buying them at Walmart (I also found this cute ghost candle holder). I made the batwings from a marbled folder that I bought at Target. It isn’t as cute as the one in Japan, but I still think it is cute.

Dreamline Alliance Sonny Angels Halloween

Halloween Sonny Angels… I know most people find them weird but I think they are so cute.

Dreamline Alliance Rilakkuma Halloween

Halloween Rilakkuma and Korilakkuma (the rilakkuma is Slow Magic’s). I put mine on my backpack :)

Shinjuku

By the time Slow Magic and I got to Tokyo, we were so exhausted from the tour that we spent our time just kind of wandering around. We were only there for a short amount of time so we didn’t go outside of Shinjuku/Harajuku/Shibuya (which is okay, because most of my favorite places are located in those neighborhoods. You can see my Tokyo guide here 😉).

I wanted to share a few pics from one of our days wandering around Shinjuku…mostly because I want to show off my bag, which SM decorated for me. Before we left for our trip, I wanted to find a low key cross body bag for when we were just kind of exploring cities. I ended up finding this black, faux leather one from Gap. At the time it seemed perfect but once we were at home it felt a little boring. To fix it, I asked SM to just draw whatever he wanted with paint pens (I am not sure why, but I love love love the look of when people just draw on handbags to personalize them). It turned out so perfectly! xx

After a few days of rest in Bali, Slow Magic and I traveled to Bandung for the first show of his Asia tour. Early the next morning, we traveled back to Bali for a festival called Wakeup Call, which is put on by W Hotels. Neither of us had gotten any sleep so we were happy to get to the W where we stayed in bed and ordered room service until the show. The next day, we flew to Taipei, where we are now.

Taipei is so rainy so we spent the day wandering around in a mall that is attached to our hotel. Tonight we will probably get some dinner and then head back to our hotel to do some work. We are so exciting I know lol. xx

Yesterday, Slow Magic and I went on a tour of Ubud. We do not usually have time to actually explore the places we go on tour, but when we do, it always gives us a better understanding of the city/country/etc.

Ubud was so beautiful and diverse and I cannot even imagine how many other beautiful places exist on the island.

Tomorrow we go to Bandung for the first show of the tour and then after that we fly back to Bali where SM will play a festival called Wake Up Call. xx

Ever since I heard about EVA Air’s Hello Kitty flights, I have wanted to take one. So, when Slow Magic and I boarded our five hour flight from Taipei to Bali and realized that we were taking one of their Hello Kitty flights I was beyond excited. Everything was so cute and so branded, it didn’t even seem like real life (all flights should be that cute…how could anyone get angry when the environment is so cute?).

Hello Kitty aside, our trip from NYC to Bali was our first time flying on EVA Air so I do not have a ton of experience with the airline, but from the two flights we did have (a 15 hour flight being the first one) they seem to be an airline that truly cares about their onboard service. The flight attendants were nice, they had nice amenities (hand lotion, face mist, etc in the bathrooms even on the shorter flight), they always made sure you were hydrated, and they actually had fruit meals. Even on the second flight when they didn’t have the fruit meal on board for me, the flight attendant seemed genuinely concerned and actually made one for me (I didn’t even know airlines could do that). Additionally, towards the end of the flight, she asked me if I wanted her to put in an order for all fruit meals for our two upcoming EVA Air flights. So nice!

Unrelated, today is our first full day in Bali. We are going to spend it relaxing at the spa and then maybe go to the beach for dinner. xx
