Shinjuku

By the time Slow Magic and I got to Tokyo, we were so exhausted from the tour that we spent our time just kind of wandering around. We were only there for a short amount of time so we didn’t go outside of Shinjuku/Harajuku/Shibuya (which is okay, because most of my favorite places are located in those neighborhoods. You can see my Tokyo guide here 😉).

I wanted to share a few pics from one of our days wandering around Shinjuku…mostly because I want to show off my bag, which SM decorated for me. Before we left for our trip, I wanted to find a low key cross body bag for when we were just kind of exploring cities. I ended up finding this black, faux leather one from Gap. At the time it seemed perfect but once we were at home it felt a little boring. To fix it, I asked SM to just draw whatever he wanted with paint pens (I am not sure why, but I love love love the look of when people just draw on handbags to personalize them). It turned out so perfectly! xx

I should have posted these sooner but we haven’t had reliable wifi in so long. The wifi wasn’t working at our hotel in Tokyo and then when we got home we realized that our wifi was also broken (and I was so jet lagged that I have been to tired to be on my computer). Either way, here is a small photo diary from Taipei and Singapore. It was our first time in Taipei and my second time in Singapore and I loved and had so much fun in both places so much. xx

Football Sunday

Even though it was about 100º F yesterday, our first Sunday back in Phoenix was cozy in an autumn way. The main reason it felt so fall-like was because my brother came over in the morning to eat breakfast and watch football. During the fall in US (I know it isn’t actually Fall, but…close enough), Sundays mean football. Even if you do not follow football, if even your state doesn’t have a team, you are aware of its presence. Football has always been a big thing in my house and I find watching it on a Sunday to be nostalgic. While I wouldn’t go out of my way to watch football, when my brother asked if he could come watch the game at our apartment I happily agreed.

During the game, I worked on sewing fawn print pillow cases for our couch. I was able to finish one but then the needle broke while I was sewing the second one (which was so frustrating that I didn’t even attempt to change it). In the afternoon, Slow Magic and I went to H&M (I’ve been looking for a cable knit turtle neck sweater). When we came home, I decided to make us vegan pumpkin spice lattes, as I had never had one before. Afterwards, we got poke bowls from our favorite poke place, Koi Poke and ate them before going to the gym. xx

Europe Photo Diary

Dream Angel Rome

I was going to make a post for each place but I think a photo diary for the tour makes more sense (I posted about Bari here 😊). So, the next morning after the show in Bari, we flew to Rome.

Where we stay when we travel usually affects how I feel about a place. If we are staying in a hotel where I feel uncomfortable, I generally have a worse time. When I first started going on tour with SM, I always had a hard time in Rome. Idk what it is about Rome but the shows are often difficult and the hotels are usually weird (coming back to a weird hotel after a difficult show can be so uncomfortable). That being said, the Peopoli9 hotel is our favorite place to stay in Rome and since we started staying there I completely understand why people love the city so much.

From Rome, we flew (with the Blackeyed Peas...they had bought the whole first class lol) to Cluj, Romania, where SM was playing the Untold Festival. There were so many people traveling to Cluj for the festival that the baggage claim was chaos and it took forever to get our bag. Once we did, we walked out into the arrivals area where we met our festival 'angel' (what Romanian festivals seem to call festival liaisons). Our Angel, who introduced himself as Dodo, was the best festival liaison ever and because of him, we had such a smooth and easy experience (everyone working at the festival was so nice and we honestly had so much fun talking with everyone we met). After the show, we headed back to our hotel to pack up our stuff and head to the airport for our 6am flight to Sweden.

When we arrived in Stockholm, we were exhausted but so excited to be there and for our days off. We checked into one of my favorite hotels, Miss Clara, and spent the next few days shopping, exploring, taking baths, watching Terrace House, and eating poke bowls. By the end of our time in Stockholm, we were completely rested and ready to do the last show in London.

The show in London went so well and from there we flew back to the US. The tour was short but so nice and we had so much fun.
