Road Trip Checklist

Dream Angel and Slow Magic

Slow Magic and I go on a lot of road trips…so many that I feel like l like I am becoming somewhat of an expert when preparing for one. That being said, I wanted to share my Road Trip Checklist with you so you can use it on your next road trip.

Road Trip Checklist

1. Be prepared : make sure you have, at the very least, a first aid kit and a flashlight. If you are driving through mountains, make sure you bring a cold weather kit with blankets, hot hands, and food and water.

2. Bring a cooler with snacks. I like to make and bring lots of healthy snacks so we do not have to stop along the way. Also bring bottles of water and coffee for if you are getting tired.

Favorite road trip snacks : tofu spring rolls, Japanese sweet potatoes, and little containers of grapes, dried mango.

Tips for packing your cooler :

  • Only put cold food in the cooler, bring another bag with dried goods.

  • When you pack your cooler, separate items logically into different bags so you know where everything is and you can easily grab what you are looking for.

  • Bring utensils and napkins.

3. Have a Clean Car Kit : bring a roll of paper towels, wet wipes, trash bags, hand sanitizer, and paintbrushes (the are like little brooms for the car).

4. Entertainment : download music and podcasts in advance so it isn’t silent in the no service zones. Also, be sure to bring an aux cable.

A few podcasts we like : Reply All, Stuff You Should Know, The Poundcast, and Mortified.

5. Keep the backseat organized so you can grab things easily.

6. Bring a cable to charge your phone.

Other tips :

  • When the sun goes down, pull over and walk around so you do not get sleepy.

  • If you do get sleepy, pull over and get a hotel room. For yourself and others, please be safe 🙂

  • If there are only scary restrooms at gas stations, you can also use the bathrooms at hotels, grocery stores, fast food restaurants and places like Target or Walmart.

  • Get out of the car every couple of hours to walk around, drink lots of water, and bring charcoal pills so you won’t feel bloated at the end of a long drive.

Burberry Check

Hello :) Sorry for the lack of posts, Slow Magic and I just got back from a road trip to Colorado, where we were finishing up celebrating Christmas. I was hoping to take more pictures while we were there but we didn’t have much time. That being said, I did manage to get this outfit pic when we stopped near Vail on our drive home.

The theme of this outfit is ‘things that I found while going through my closet’, as the scarf, bag, earmuffs, and skirt were all found in my closet at home in VT. Lately, I have been into the idea of wearing hints of the classic Burberry check (like on the cuff of a jacket or the inside of a coat or something) so I was super excited to find a few things that I already owned with the print. I paired the check with black but I think that it would look so nice with cream or pink :)

Anyways, It finally feels like the start of the new year and now that we are back at our apartment, I am hoping to get the kitchen and our closets more organized (I am not usually big on new years resolutions so I will call this a new years goal). Do you guys have any new years resolutions/goals?

2018 Outfits

nine, ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, sixteen

I love taking outfit pictures and I have been taking them since I was in high school…it is so weird but I was completely confident doing so, even in public up until recently. Over this past year, I have been trying to get comfortable in front of the camera again. While I am not completely there, I do feel like I have made some progress and I wanted to share the outfit pics I did take :)

My goal for this year is to take more! Slow Magic takes all of the outfit photos and while it was difficult for me to explain to him exactly what I wanted at first, I feel like we are now getting the hang of it and I am actually so excited to take more with him (I hope he is too lol). Do you have any goals for this year… or any tips for getting over taking pictures in public?

Coachella

Dream Angel and Slow Magic

Happy New Years everyone!!!

I thought now would be a good time to share an accomplishment from 2018, which is that Slow Magic played Coachella. I am so proud of him and it was so much fun AND I never posted pictures from it so I thought I would now :) The first two outfits are from the first weekend and the third outfit is from the second weekend. We were so sick on the second week, which was hard but still fun.

I took wearing a face mask a little more seriously the second weekend… getting sick at Coachella is no joke. I should have known better too…I got sick the last time Slow Magic and I went to Coachella as well 🤷🏼‍♀️

Christmas in Vermont

I wanted to share a few pics of our Christmas tree before it is too late! If you want to see our other Christmas trees, you can see them here and here :)

Out of all of the Christmas trees I decorated this year, this one is definitely my favorite. My dad picked it out and I think he did such a good job…it is like my dream tree! Anyways, before we came to Vermont, I began looking for a fake fur garland for the tree. I couldn’t find one that wasn’t super expensive, but I did end up finding this end piece of fake fur at Joann’s for around $2. I cut the fabric into four inch wide strips, folded them in half lengthwise and then secured them with a hot glue gun so that the back side of the fabric wouldn’t be visible. In addition to the ornaments that we already had, I ordered two more sets of ornaments (one set bigger than the other) in pink and blue, and picked up a few extra big baby blue ornaments at Lowe’s. I think having many different sizes of ornaments helped to add dimension making the overall appearance of the tree more magical.

On Christmas Eve, it started snowing, which was so exciting…having a snowy Christmas is the best! For Christmas Eve dinner, I taught my dad how to roast a chicken. I never really get to do anything like that with my dad (I usually cook with my mother, but she had a really bad cold and was unable to help), which made it one of my favorite parts of Christmas.

On Christmas day, the sun came out and it was so dreamy. After we all woke up, we opened our presents by the fire and then we had our Christmas brunch. Afterwards, Slow Magic and I went on a walk before heading to my cousin’s house.
